Parkrun #21: Porthcawl

Thanks for everyone's support - the final joggle of my 102km Joggling Challenge for guide dogs is complete! 102/102km of parkruns done! (It was actually 105km really because I did 21 parkruns, but the 102 represents the lifetime cost of a guide dog which is £102,000)

A beautiful, sunny day for a run by the sea and I was humbled by all the people who came out to support me from VI runners, Guide Dogs and church! Thanks everyone!

My justgiving page will stay open for a bit longer if anyone wants to give in support of people with sight loss. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, the current total is just shy of £800 which is a fantastic achievement - one of the most amazing things is that quite a few donations were from random people I had never met before who happened to be running alongside me at various parkruns! The parkrun community is truly an amazing thing. Thanks to everyone who made kind and encouraging comments over the last 6 months as I muddled my way through- especially in the beginning when I was dropping the balls every few minutes!

It has been a blast and I have actually come to quite enjoy joggling (I never thought this would happen!), so I might continue doing it every now and then! So watch this space, you may see me joggling at a parkrun near you! Alternatively if anyone has any ideas of what I could do next to make running more interesting, let me know!

(Thanks to Nian for a couple of the photos)
